Conception of Education:
1. Regarding students as the center, respecting teachers’ professional knowledge, and encouraging parents to take part in school affairs enthusiastically.
2. Concentrating on running the school with professional knowledge of education and pragmatic attitude.
3. Insisting on the concepts, taking our courage in both hands, and promoting innovation and improvement of administration.
4. Adopting advices from every member, spreading the seed of kindness, and building up a campus with safety and warmth.

Make Being Polite Our Good Habit!
There was a goodwill ambassador of the United Nations going to a country in Africa. He announced the people there are the worst hosts in the world. The custom officers wore poker faces; the taxi drivers had bad attitudes; the servers in the restaurants are arrogant and rude; the citizens are impatient and hostile. Later, the goodwill ambassador read some words in a book: “The world is like a mirror. Everyone can see his own image in it.” Therefore, he decided next time when going to that country, he would wear a smile all the way. As a result, he didn’t even see any unhappy custom officers, taxi drivers, severs…etc. Everyone was friendly and wearing a smile.

The story above tells us that the best way to correct others’ attitudes is to correct ours first. When you are being polite to others, you’ll find that others are also being polite to you. I like kindly greeting the students initiatively in school. The responses from the students to the greeting “Good morning.” in the morning or “Hello!” at other times are different. Except that a few of the students appear to be shy or bushed, the rest of them have comparative responses. I believe that everyone has already learned the manners and politeness in our lives from home or school and knows the importance very well. But most of all, we need to put it into practice in our daily life. It’s so called “Actions speak louder than words.”, and it can be real “politeness.”

“Courtesy” is an important part of moralities. It’s based on one thing that everyone is required to consciously obey the norm of his own role and obey the norms of others’ at the same time. For instance, every teacher should conform his behavior to the role as a teacher, every student should conform his behavior to the role as a student, parents should conform their behaviors to the role as parents, and children should conform their behaviors to the role as children. The norms can be used as the standards of behavior, be used to build up habits of moralities, and improve regulations of public security. Everything reasonable can all be called “courtesy.” As for the opposite of courtesy, it means not valuing the order, not obeying the discipline, and not following the rules. The purpose for advocating courtesy promotion is hoping to make everyone learn the manners of daily life, respect others’ roles, and put polite behaviors into practice during his growth. And then be a man of courtesy.

In 2006, Reader's Digest in America performed a test of courtesy in 35 cities worldwide. As a result, it was found that Asia got the lowest score. Among the nine cities, except for Manila, the other eight cities all ranked 1st ~11th to last. Hong Kong ranked 25th; Taipei ranked 28th; Singapore ranked 30th; Seoul ranked 32nd; Mumbai, in India, ranked first to last and became the most impolite city in the survey. Though the test of courtesy isn’t absolutely scientific, it’s absolutely worth our introspection.

Being polite is the best way not only to show our self-cultivation, but also to interact with others well. Ministry of Education has been working on promoting the action project called “Friendly Campus.” I personally think that we should start “Friendly Campus” with being polite and show it in life education of daily life. Make being polite a good habit on campus and make every member be able to feel each other’s kindness and politeness. Being polite, respecting others, loving neatness, obeying regulations, and valuing environment protection are all the contents of putting “Life Education” into practice. Executing is not difficult. We can start with smiling and greeting kindly. Remember to say “please,” “thank you,” and “sorry” anytime and apply them properly. Make being polite our good habit!
